Air conditioning

Questions about AC installation, brands and usage.

More about air conditioning

Can an air conditioner also heat?

A modern split AC works as an air-to-air heat pump: it extracts heat from outdoor air and delivers it indoors. That is often more efficient than electric heaters, especially in spring and autumn. In Eindhoven and surroundings we install many systems that provide comfort year-round — cooling in summer and supplementary heating in winter. The right capacity and unit placement determine how well the AC performs as a heater. We are happy to calculate that during a free consultation.

Which brand suits me?

There is no single "best" brand — it depends on your home, budget and wishes. LG and Tosot score well on value for money; Daikin and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on premium comfort and air purification. We are dealers for LG, Daikin, Tosot and MHI and advise independently. Factors include number of rooms, desired noise level, Wi-Fi control and whether you also want to heat. View our brand pages or schedule a home visit in Eindhoven and surroundings.

How much does AC installation cost?

The price of AC installation depends on the number of rooms, chosen brand, required capacity and placement complexity (pipe length, outdoor unit height, wall penetration). A single split for one room is naturally cheaper than a multi-split for several rooms. We always provide a clear quote upfront. Request a free quote; we can visit you in Eindhoven and surroundings to assess your situation.

Why choose LG?

LG combines energy-efficient R32 technology with features like the Dual Inverter Compressor, self-cleaning and ThinQ Wi-Fi control — at a sharp price. The brand scores well on value and is popular in new builds and renovations around Eindhoven. We install LG to F-gas regulations and also provide maintenance. See our LG page for models and specifications.

Is LG suitable for heating?

LG split AC units can heat efficiently thanks to inverter technology and heat pump principle. They work well as supplementary heating in spring and autumn and can serve as main heating in well-insulated spaces. We calculate the right capacity based on your room — too small is uncomfortable, too large is unnecessarily expensive. Request advice via our LG page or a home visit.

Do you install other brands too?

We are dealers for LG, Daikin, Tosot and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries but advise independently — it is about what fits your situation, not a sales target. Already have a preference or quote from another brand? Feel free to discuss it with us. We also maintain AC units of all brands, even if installed elsewhere. See our full range on the AC page.

Why choose Daikin?

Daikin is the global market leader in air conditioning with proven reliability, whisper-quiet wall units and innovations like Flash Streamer air purification and the Onecta app. The range spans compact splits to multi-split for several rooms. In the Eindhoven region we install Daikin for customers seeking premium comfort and high efficiency. Learn more on our Daikin page.

Is Daikin suitable for heating?

Daikin AC units use heat pump technology: they extract much of the required energy from outdoor air. That makes heating more efficient than direct electric heating. With SCOP values up to about 5.2, Daikin units are among the most efficient in their class. Whether Daikin suits main or supplementary heating depends on insulation and room size — we advise you on site in Eindhoven and surroundings.

Can I cool multiple rooms with one system?

A multi-split system lets you place several indoor units (up to five) on one outdoor unit. That saves outdoor space and is often more economical than multiple separate splits. Ideal for bedroom, living room and attic together. Daikin also offers Multi+ for hot water. We design the system to measure and advise on capacity per room. Suitable for terraced homes, semi-detached and larger homes in Eindhoven and surroundings.

Heat pumps

About heat pumps, ISDE subsidy and hybrid solutions.

More about heat pumps

Do you help with ISDE subsidy?

The ISDE subsidy (Dutch investment grant for sustainable energy) can repay a significant part of your heat pump investment. The amount depends on the type of heat pump, capacity and current RVO rules. We inform you about the conditions, expected amount and required documents — such as the installation certificate and invoice. We work with brands and models that qualify and ensure the installation meets the requirements. Request free advice via our heat pump page or a quote.

Am I eligible for ISDE subsidy?

ISDE eligibility depends on several factors: heat pump type (hybrid, all-electric, ground- or air-to-water), capacity, whether you are owner-occupier and whether the property is a home. Combinations with other grants or an ongoing application also matter. We know the current RVO conditions and assess your situation during a consultation — so you know what to expect upfront. Get in touch or request a free quote.

Does a heat pump replace my CV-ketel?

A heat pump can fully replace your CV-ketel (all-electric) or partly take over (hybrid). With a hybrid heat pump — such as the Remeha Elga Ace — your existing CV-ketel stays as backup while the heat pump handles most of the heating. That often suits existing homes with radiators. An all-electric heat pump replaces the CV-ketel completely and works well when your home is well insulated or has underfloor heating. We assess insulation, heat emitters and hot water demand during a home visit in and around Eindhoven.

Why choose Remeha?

A large network of certified installers and proven efficiency make Remeha a logical choice for renovations and existing homes. Is a Remeha heat pump suitable for my home?

The Remeha Elga Ace was developed for existing Dutch homes: it works with almost any CV-ketel and suits radiators without immediate changes to your heat emitters. Installation is usually completed in a single day. Whether a Remeha heat pump is the best choice depends on insulation, heating type and your preferences (hybrid or all-electric). We are happy to visit you in and around Eindhoven to assess your situation and provide tailored advice.

CV-ketels

Questions about CV-ketel replacement, Remeha and breakdown support.

More about cv-ketels

When should I replace my CV-ketel?

Replacing your CV-ketel is wise with repeated breakdowns, high repair costs or an age of about 12–15 years. Older CV-ketels use more gas and are more prone to failure — especially in winter. When replacing, we look at your home, hot-water comfort (CW class) and whether you want to make your heating more sustainable later with a hybrid heat pump. Remeha CV-ketels are Hybrid Ready, so you can take that step easily later. We advise you on the right moment and model during a free consultation in and around Eindhoven.

Do you handle breakdowns?

Does your CV-ketel show a fault or error code? Contact us by phone or WhatsApp — we quickly look at the best solution with you. Sometimes a repair is enough; sometimes replacement is wiser — especially with older CV-ketels or recurring problems. We install and maintain Remeha CV-ketels in the Eindhoven region and also help with breakdown support and periodic maintenance. That keeps your heating reliable and avoids unexpected costs.

What is the difference between a combi and solo CV-ketel?

A combi (combination) CV-ketel heats your home and produces hot tap water directly — ideal for most Dutch households with one bathroom or limited simultaneous shower use. A solo CV-ketel only heats radiators or underfloor heating; hot water comes from a separate water heater or cylinder. Solo CV-ketels suit higher hot-water demand or multiple bathrooms. Remeha offers both types as energy-efficient high-efficiency CV-ketels. We assess your situation — number of residents, bathrooms and heating needs — and advise which type fits best.

What is hot-water comfort (CW class)?

The CW class (comfort warm water) runs from CW3 to CW6 and indicates how much hot tap water a combi CV-ketel can deliver. CW3 suits a smaller household with one shower; CW4 and CW5 offer more comfort with simultaneous showering and tapping; CW6 is intended for larger homes with multiple bathrooms. Too low a CW class means cold water with simultaneous use; too high is unnecessarily expensive. We calculate the right comfort class based on your home and family size — so you choose a Remeha CV-ketel that fits daily use.

How much does a CV-ketel installation cost?

The price of a CV-ketel installation depends on the chosen model (combi or solo), hot-water comfort class, any pipework changes and whether a new thermostat or flue is needed. Replacement in an existing home is often simpler than a first installation in new build. We always provide a clear quote upfront — including CV-ketel, labour and required materials. No surprises afterwards. Request a free quote; we can visit you in and around Eindhoven if needed.

How long does a CV-ketel installation take?

For a standard replacement — same type of CV-ketel, existing connections — installation is usually completed in one working day. You may be without heating and hot water for a short time that day. With a different CV-ketel configuration (e.g. solo to combi), relocation or extra pipework it can take longer. We discuss the schedule upfront so you know when you will have hot water again. In the Eindhoven region we plan installations efficiently and neatly.

How often should I have my CV-ketel serviced?

A CV-ketel works year-round for hot water and for heating in winter. Annual maintenance — ideally in spring or before winter — keeps efficiency up, reduces the chance of breakdowns and is important for safety (e.g. CO emission checks). For rental properties or certain warranty terms, periodic maintenance may be mandatory. Klimaat 040 services CV-ketels of all brands in and around Eindhoven, from around €79. See our maintenance page for more information.

Do you also maintain CV-ketels from other brands?

We are a Remeha installer but maintain CV-ketels of all brands: Nefit, Intergas, Vaillant, Bosch and more. Even if your CV-ketel was installed by another company, you can come to us for periodic maintenance, safety checks and breakdown support. During a service visit we check efficiency, settings, safety and wear parts. That keeps your CV-ketel efficient and reliable. Contact us with your brand and model — in almost all cases we can help.

What is a high-efficiency (HR) CV-ketel?

High-efficiency (HR) CV-ketels have been the standard in the Netherlands since the 1990s. They extract extra heat from flue gases via a heat exchanger, making efficiency higher than older conventional CV-ketels — often above 100% on the energy label scale. That means lower gas consumption and lower energy bills. All modern Remeha CV-ketels we install are high-efficiency models. Still have an older CV-ketel (non-condensing)? Replacing it with an HR CV-ketel is often a smart investment.

Why choose Remeha?

Remeha is a Dutch heating brand whose CV-ketels have ranked among the best in the Netherlands for years. That means low gas consumption, a long lifespan and satisfied users — backed by an extensive network of trained installers. The range covers energy-efficient high-efficiency combi and solo CV-ketels in various comfort classes (CW3 to CW6). All Remeha CV-ketels are Hybrid Ready and suitable for green gas, so you can make your heating more sustainable step by step. Klimaat 040 advises, installs and handles maintenance in the Eindhoven region.

Which Remeha CV-ketel suits me?

The right Remeha CV-ketel depends on your home type, number of residents, bathrooms and hot-water demand. For an average family with one bathroom, a CW4 combi CV-ketel is often enough; for larger homes or multiple showers, CW5 or CW6 is wiser. Want to add a hybrid heat pump later? Choose a Hybrid Ready model. We are happy to visit you in and around Eindhoven to assess your situation and give tailored advice — free and without sales talk.

Can I make it more sustainable later?

All Remeha CV-ketels are Hybrid Ready: they are prepared for connection with a hybrid heat pump, such as the Remeha Elga Ace. That can cut your gas consumption by up to 70% without replacing your entire heating system at once. The CV-ketels are also suitable for green gas blending — another step towards sustainability. We advise which model best fits your plans, so you install a reliable CV-ketel now and can expand easily later. See our heat pump page for more on hybrid solutions.

Is maintenance mandatory?

For private homeowners, CV-ketel maintenance is not always legally mandatory, but strongly recommended — for safety, efficiency and a longer lifespan. For landlords and under some warranty terms, periodic maintenance may be required. An annual check by a certified installer spots wear and safety risks early. Klimaat 040 handles CV-ketel maintenance in and around Eindhoven from around €79, for all brands.

Older CV-ketels too?

Yes, we also service older CV-ketels — as long as replacement is not yet the better choice. With a CV-ketel older than about 12–15 years or recurring faults, we honestly discuss whether maintenance still makes sense or investing in a new high-efficiency CV-ketel is wiser. During maintenance we check safety, efficiency and wear, so you can make an informed decision. Contact us for a maintenance appointment in and around Eindhoven.
